Back in 2012, I did a project on Zippos, a UK travelling circus. As part of the project I designed postcards inspired by the Boston Company the Tichnor Brothers Inc.
The Tichnor Bros cards were produced mainly between the 1930s and 1950s and depicted places and subjects in the USA. I have one in my collection of a fairground. The colours are saturated with a certain palette and the card is printed on linen effect heavy paper.
I downloaded a TB colour chart and picked out some of my circus images to work on. I found a linen texture inkjet paper and printed out my very own vintage postcards.
